When Does Coverage Start?

When Does Coverage Start?

The “commencement date” marks the start of your warranty coverage. It’s often mistaken for the move-in date, but that’s not always the case. For single-family homes, the commencement date is the earliest of:

  1. The date the home is first occupied;
  2. The date occupancy is granted by the local authority; or
  3. The date the transfer of title is registered.
Seasonal Maintenance

Seasonal Maintenance

As a homeowner, some items will require regular seasonal maintenance. Taking care of these routine tasks is your responsibility and helps ensure your home continues to perform and look its best for years to come.

Examples include scheduling HVAC inspections, cleaning gutters and downspouts, checking for plumbing leaks, and replacing furnace filters.
